Durant City Officials want to add jogging, biking, and fishing to the list of activities at the multisports complex. A grant from the Oklahoma Department of Tourism will help pay for a 1.5 mile walk and bike trail.

The trail will wrap around a 7 acre lake being built in partnership by the Choctaw nation. City officials are asking the public for letter of support to present with the grant application to the state.

"It's going to make that area more beautiful than it is," said Jim Dunegan, Durant city manager. "I think it's something that people will want to support and I think it's something that people will be proud of from the community."

The deadline to submit letters is Monday, January 29. You can address your letters to Jim Dunegan at the City of Durant.
