KXII-TV: Recipient of the 2006 Outstanding Achievement Award in Broadcasting for Best Weathercast

The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters has announced that KXII-TV has received the Outstanding Achievement Awards in 3 categories, including Best Weathercast in the Non-Metro Television Division.

The Outstanding Achievement in Broadcasting Awards Program is an annual competition encouraging the highest standards of reporting, programming, and promotion. It is designed to stimulate a desire for excellence among Oklahoma broadcasters in serving their public.

In addition to Best Weathercast, KXII-TV also received awards for Best General Promotion for the First News Hotline, and Best Sports Image Promotion for Friday Night Blitz.

The OAB is a non-profit organization of commercial radio and television stations organized to serve the public interest and promote the cooperation and prosperity of its members. A 12-member Board of Directors governs the OAB. Today, OAB membership numbers 158 radio stations, 22 television stations, 9 educational stations and 49 associate members.

KXII-TV serves the Sherman-Denison-Ardmore-Ada television market, including 12 Oklahoma counties and 4 Texas counties. Offices and Studios are located in Sherman, Texas and Ardmore, Oklahoma.
