Tishomingo Police have launched a criminal investigation of the gas leak into the city's sewer lines that caused over a hundred residents to evacuate their homes late Tuesday night.
Many of the evacuated residents waited out the situation at a nearby church before the area was deemed safe again around six o'clock Wednesday morning.
Authorities have pinpointed the location where the twenty gallons of gasoline were poured. As of now there are no suspects. Police are actively working this case.
The sewer in Tishomingo has been flushed with water. If you live in that area, there are no concerns of contamination.
