Anchors Turn Waiters; Toys for Tots Drive Counting Down

12-18-03 - The Toys for Tots drive turned news anchors and elected officials into waiters Thursday night. It was all part of Celebrity Waiter night at the Cotton Patch Café. Matt Brown and Lisanne Anderson both donned aprons and went to work as waiters. The real wait staff did much of the work though, donating all their tips to the Toys for Tots drive. The Café also donated a portion of the night’s proceeds. Local coaches, law enforcement, radio personalities and elected officials joined in the fun and the Koality Kids sang Christmas carols for the crowd. In all, nearly $2,000 was raised from the event, including $175 in tips donated from Arlene's Catfish. 120 toys were also dropped off.
