Troubled Jail Gives Pay Raise

By  |

Bryan County Commissioners have voted to give jailers at the Bryan County Jail a pay raise, despite its bad reputation and having its interim jail administrator put in for resignation.

Salaries will jump from $950 to $1,025 monthly. Then after ninety days, another raise will be given, allowing jailers to make $1,200 a month.

Commissioners say the raise is to improve the quality of the jail. It will go into effect February 15.
