In Tuesday's State of the State Address, Governor Rick Perry told Texas lawmakers that Texas should sell its lottery to a private firm to help pay to get more Texans covered by health insurance.
Perry said that selling the lottery to a private agency would generate hundreds of millions of dollars for health insurance, cancer research, and education.
Perry also defended his recent decision to require girls to have a vaccination against HPV, the sexually transmitted disease than can lead to cervical cancer.
