1-5-04 - An armed robber was caught on tape this weekend, and caught within a half hour of committing the crime. Police say 28 year old David Ray Witt of Collinsville robbed a Gainesville convenience store Saturday night. But 20 minutes later, a trooper recognized Witt during a traffic stop, and made the arrest. He’s now in jail on aggravated robbery charges. He could face 5 years to life in prison if convicted. The $300 stolen has been returned.
