A combination of very strong winds, falling temperatures and frozen precipitation will make Wednesday and Wednesday night dangerous for motorists. Freezing rain and sleet will change to snow before ending late Wednesday or early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Roads will be icy Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
A man is dead after an accident in Love County. It happened just before 10:30 Saturday morning at the 14-mile marker, on I-35. Troopers say Kelly Hickey of Mesquite, Texas was driving Northbound when he ran off the road and overcorrected. His car rolled and he was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then landed on top of him and pinned him inside.
Hickey was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, where he was pronounced dead. Troopers are still investigating the cause of the accident.
