Whitewright Teen Dies in Car Accident

A Whitewright teenager is dead after a car accident early Sunday morning. State troopers say 17-year-old Josh Holder was pronounced dead at the scene. They say Holder was a passenger in a car driven by 17-year-old Ricky Pirkle.

Pirkle was driving Southbound on White Mound Road, just outside of Tom Bean, when his car ran off the road, and flipped three times. Pirkle suffered minor injuries. He was taken to Wilson N. Jones Hospital.

Friends say Holder played baseball at Denison High School before moving to Whitewright before the school year started.

Troopers are still investigating the cause of the accident.
