The protest of coal-powered plants in the state of Texas is continuing in Austin. More than 1,000 people protested against the proposed building of new coal plants at the Texas State capitol Sunday afternoon.
Protesters said they're upset about TXU Energy's plans to develop as many as 19 coal-gas fired electric plants across Texas, including one in Savoy.
The Texoma chapter of CORE attended the rally. CORE stands for "Citizens Organizing for Resources and Environment." They say they oppose the building of the new power plants.
