A combination of very strong winds, falling temperatures and frozen precipitation will make Wednesday and Wednesday night dangerous for motorists. Freezing rain and sleet will change to snow before ending late Wednesday or early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Roads will be icy Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
Voters in Southern Oklahoma will hit the polls Tuesday to elect school board members in Carter, Love, and Murray Counties. A millage increase is on the ballot for the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center.
SOTC officials are asking voters to approve the property tax increase to allow them to expand their student population by 33 percent.
In 2006, students were turned away due to lack of room.
The money would help build a diesel mechanics classroom and jump start new biotechnology and manufacturing programs. It would also expand the Health Center training program.
