SHERMAN, TX – One man was arrested after a high speed chase through Sherman around noon Wednesday.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office says that one of their deputies was parked on northbound U.S. Highway 75 at the Travis Street underpass when a black Firebird and a maroon Mustang passed him at speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour.

The deputy chased them, but said the Mustang was going too fast to get a good description and gave up the pursuit.

The driver of the Firebird did pull over and was arrested for street racing. That driver’s name has not been released.
