01-21-04 - Fairview Park in Sherman won't be in the dark for long. After an assault on a woman and her daughter the city plans to install new lights along the rear path.
Oncor Engergy will put up eight new lights free of charge to the city, but the cost of running those lights will add up to around $150 a month. The lights should be installed in the next 3 weeks.
It was just 2 weeks ago that a woman was hit in the head with the butt of a gun by an attacker along the back side of the park. The city took action on the problem this week.
