1-21-04 - What was a leaking and dilapidated pool in Sherman will soon become a water splash park. The 34-year-old pool at Hawn Park will be demolished this month. It's cost the city almost $40,000 the past few years in repairs.

So instead of continuing that cost they're building a $300,000 water splash park that will have 15 water cannons and spouts. Admission will be free and the city won’t have to hire lifeguards since the park won’t have deep water.

If the splash park is a success city officials say they will build more in the future.
