Atoka soldier James Turner is on leave from fighting in Iraq, and he told KXII-TV he thinks America is winning the war on terror. He said the troops are making progress overseas, and they don't let what's happening at home get in the way of their mission.
Turner will return to Iraq March 10. His unit hit a roadside bomb in late 2006, but no one was injured. His parents say they worry about him from time to time, but they're proud of what he's accomplished.
Turner is an Atoka High School graduate, and an Eagle Scout.
