02-28-04--After more than a year in Iraq, the 1245th National Guard Unit out of Ardmore is just days from returning home. The National Guard is not specifying exactly when the soldiers will return to Fort Sill, but family members expect them on Monday. And they are already preparing for a happy homecoming. Family members flooded the National Guard office in Ardmore with phone calls today, curious about when the soldiers would be returning home. But the office will not give a confirmation date. They're advising families not to leave for Fort Sill until they receive confirmation about the soldiers' return. The soldiers were deployed last year to help fight in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
A homecoming celebration is in the works in Ardmore for the day the troops come home to the city.
