Sherman, TX - Volunteers sifted through the remaining clothes and toys today, after the “Just Between Friends” consignment sale, determining what will be donated and what goes back to owners.

"This is the fourth sale in Sherman and I've been at all four, I help every time,” saild Alyssa Pearson.

Alyssa never misses a "Just Between Friends" sale, and she travels all the way from Murphy, TX to volunteer.

"I'm here the night before dropping off my stuff, the day of the presales, the day of the break down, so almost every day. And I look forward to it every spring and every fall," explained Pearson.

Alyssa is also a consignor, meaning she earned a few extra bucks at this weekend's sale as well by donating gently used clothes, toys and other children’s merchandise to sell at a discounted price.

"It's a busy time of year, twice a year to do this, but when I get that check in the mail a month later it's totally worth it to get that money back, plus to get cool new clothes and toys for my kids at a discount," said Pearson.

This weekend's sale not only benefited consignors and volunteers like Alyssa, it gave a boost to the local economy at the same time.

"We probably put well over $30,000 back into the Sherman economy, so it was a huge success, we are very please," said Jayme Maxwell, Owner of “Just Between Friends” Sherman/Denison.

And over $3,000 worth of merchandise that didn't sell will be donated to the North Texas Youth Connection, where it will be distributed to local charities.

"It's a really great situation for everybody, we love giving back to the community, helping people earn money and it's fun," said Maxwell.

Maxwell says this was the largest JBF sale yet in Sherman, and says she enjoys being able to help other parents like her save money.

"It's great, it's very rewarding, Sandy and I both love a job where we can help other people,” said Maxwell.

And Maxwell is already planning for the spring sale, which will be March 25th through the 28th. She said it's not too early to start tagging your items for the next JBF event, just go to their website http://sherman.jbfsale.com for more information.
