02-10-04 - Twenty employees with Texoma Medical Center received pink slips yesterday afternoon. Today the Denison hospital says the cuts were necessary to meet their 2004 budget.

The hospital also cut hours back for 50 employees. Those full time employees however will continue to receive their benefits. All of the job cuts were non-clinical positions.

According to hospital officials the recent increase in uninsured patients has put the hospital in a tight position finically. Last year they wrote off $15 million of debt.

The Texoma Healthcare Systems has around 1400 total employees.
