02-13-04 - A Durant middle school student was suspended Monday after an air pistol was found in his backpack. The principal of Durant Intermediate School found the gun after receiving an anonymous tip. The air pistol is similar to a B-B gun. Durant schools treat all weapons the same. The Bryan County Sheriffs Office is investigating. No word yet on why the student brought the pistol to school.
