Kids in Tioga participated in an interactive program designed to teach kids about fire safety. The mobile unit is equipped with a kitchen and fireplace and demonstrates proper cooking methods and ways to prevent fires.
A bedroom is set up to fill with smoke with the turn of a switch to show kids how to react if they were in such a situation.
Captain Ken Smith of the Tioga Fire Department enjoys having the opportunity to educate.
"Just that one case in Celina is payback enough to any fire department anywhere to have life saving education that can prevent the loss of a child or anyone."
