(Lawton-AP) -- 51 members of the Oklahoma Army National
Guard are back home after more than a year, thanks to help from the
Oklahoma Air National Guard. Maintenance problems grounded the aircraft that was to bring half of the 102 members of the 1245th Transportation Company to Fort Sill, but Air Guard wing commander Colonel Mike Leeper came to the rescue.

Leeper arranged for two C-130's from the 185th Airlift Squadron
at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City to go to Dover,
Delaware, to pick up the soldiers. The 51 soldiers joined 51 others from the company for a homecoming at Fort Sill just after 9 last night.

The 1245th is a heavy vehicle transportation company which
helps transport, load and unload heavy equipment.

The soldiers, based out of Ardmore, left for training on February 14th, 2003, and were deployed to Iraq a month later.
