GUNTER, TX -- New Gunter police chief Bryce Kennedy is no stranger to law enforcement in Grayson County.

Kennedy comes to Gunter from Van Alstyne, where he worked as a police officer for two years.

Kennedy replaces former chief Tony Thomas, who resigned last month to pursue a job outside of law enforcement.

Corporal Julie Steenbergen, who had been appointed interim chief, will remain with the department which now employs two full-time officers.
