3-10-04 - There are new concerns of the Golden Algae threat in Lake Texoma, as a new fish kill has been discovered in another part of the lake. More than 1,000 fish have died along a 5-mile stretch of shoreline near the Mill Creek area.

The discovery has wildlife specialists scrambling for answers but the reality is there is little they can do.

The oxygen-stealing algae has already been found in Lake Texoma, but the fish kills were confined to the Lebanon pool, on the Oklahoma side.

Experts say the only chance of saving the lake's fish, and the livelihood of fisherman, is mother nature. Warmer temperatures and Green algae this summer could be enough to kill off the Golden algae.
