Bryan County Dairy Fined by State

2-19-04 - A southern Oklahoma dairy will pay a $100,000 administrative penalty for supposedly violating state environmental laws.
Alan Ritchey Inc. will also donate $45,000 to build an outdoor environmental classroom at Achille High School.
The Oklahoma State Board of Agriculture approved the agreement
today.
The dairy was accused of not having enough lagoon construction,
applying too much waste to land, contaminating groundwater and
illegally disposing carcasses.
Ritchey effectively closed the dairy after Attorney General Drew
Edmondson and the agriculture agency made the accusations.
