Biofuels bill passed

03-12-07 A bill that would make Oklahoma a global leader in renewable energy has passed in the State Senate.

Governor Henry praised senators for passing the bill to establish the Oklahoma Bioenergy center.

The bill passed by a 45 to 1 vote.

It would establish a bioenergy center that would research and develop biofuels at OSU, OU and the Noble Foundation.

The bill, authored by Senator Jay Paul Gumm of Durant, now heads to a house committee.
