Balloons Fly in Luella - Protesting Dump

2-21-04 - Have you noticed the big red balloon flying over Grayson County? It's a sign of the Luella community's latest protest against the Waste Management landfill expansion in Luella. The balloon reaches up to the proposed height of the landfill, which is more than 900 feet high. It would be the tallest point in Grayson County. Saturday, the Luella Neighborhood Association took their fight to the street to raise funds for attorney's fees they'll use to battle Waste Management.
They held a community wide sale and raised more than $1,000.
