ARDMORE, OK -- A Carter County man accused of first degree manslaughter did not stand trial Monday as originally scheduled. Christopher Haslacker, 30, of Healdton, is accused of beating his then-girlfriend, Connie Griffith, to death back in August of 2008.

Haslacker was supposed to begin his jury trial, but the Grayson County District Attorney's Office asked for a continuance because the state's DNA analyst could not make it down to testify.

Back in March, Haslacker pleaded guilty to the crime of first degree manslaughter, but then in May withdrew his plea. Now a jury is scheduled to decide his fate next year.

His jury trial has been reset for January. Haslacker remains in the Carter County Jail on a $ 1 million bond.
