Sherman drivers—get ready!
Construction is set to begin next week at the intersection of Lamberth and Travis Street.
TxDOT officials say that phase one of the $1.4 million project should begin sometime next week.
The goal of the project is to add left hand turn lanes on Travis that feed onto Lamberth and make minor changes on Lamberth at the intersection.
Officials say the work will improve the already busy intersection.
Kevin Harris, the TxDOT Area Engineer said, “That intersection right now is congested with the fact that there are a lot of left turn maneuvers on Travis Street onto Lamberth and that really slows down the mobility of that intersection."
Officials say the project will take about five months to complete.
