Lawsuits & Layoffs - Former Employees Question Motive

2-26-04 - Several people, including some recently laid off from Prepaid Legal in Antlers, Oklahoma, are suing the company. Twenty-six people without jobs and others still employed there say the company put their health at risk.

It goes back to January 16th when a mysterious gas leak forced an evacuation. Several employees were taken to the hospital with complaints of vomiting - other workers passed out.

Although the company did perform air quality checks the exact cause of the evacuation was never determined. Now some of the plaintiffs involved in the lawsuit have lost their jobs with the company. Prepaid Legal' attorney could not be reached for comment. Plaintiffs involved in the lawsuit also refused to comment on camera.
