4-2-04 - An Oklahoma City man was killed Thursday night when he was crushed under a piece of construction equipment in west Carter County. It happened 1.5 miles south of Fox, on the shoulder of state highway 76.

Troopers say 61 year old Modesto Munoz-Marquez was operating a 1993 pro-packer construction machine when he stopped to work on the engine. Located at the rear of the machine, Munoz-Marques was caught between a tire and the fender when the pro-packer lurched forward. The machine continued for another 4/10 of a mile from point of impact before coming to rest.

Munoz-Marquez died at the scene from massive injuries. Troopers are still investigating, but suspect he may have left the vehicle in gear.
