Local Soldier "Home for the Holidays"

04-04-04- More than a year ago, the Mutz family of Sherman tied a yellow ribbon on a tree in front of their home, hoping for the safe return of their soldier son from Iraq. Sunday, their prayers were answered.

Army Staff Sergeant James Mutz spent the last year in Iraq fighting for Operation Iraqi Freedom. This weekend, he and his family had a lot of catching up to do. They are celebrating every holiday they missed with each other while Mutz was in Iraq.

Sunday's celebration included exchanging gifts and an Easter egg hunt.

All together, Mutz and his wife Karen spent more than 16 months in Iraq. Mutz worked intelligence for the 1st Brigade Combat Team.

He will spend the week in Sherman, then it's back to his duties in the Army.
