Fannin County Murder - Suspect Arrested

3-22-04 - A Fannin County man is behind bars and accused of murdering a 60 year old man several weeks ago. The body of the victim was found over the weekend in his rural home near Ladonia. Police are not identifying him until his relatives have been contacted.

The suspect is 24 year old Jared Ramer, who surrendered on Monday. Ramer was arrested on March 11th in Honey Grove for driving drunk, and at the time was behind the wheel of the victim’s truck. He’s now charged with murder.

But the victim wasn’t discovered until a neighbor found the body this week, even though he’d been missing for several weeks. The man had been shot several times and the body was badly decomposed.

Ramer and his father in law are both being questioned by authorities about a recent break-in at another home, where guns and ammunition were stolen.
