3-30-04 - An interested buyer has put Sherman's Johnson & Johnson plant on its short list. The company, which has not been named, toured the facility last week. Officials with the Sherman Economic Development Corporation described the potential buyer as a large corporation. The company is also looking at 5 other U.S. cities.

J&J shut down late last year, laying off more than 500 workers over six months. It had been in Sherman for more than 40 years.

So far, SEDCO does not have a timetable for when a decision will be made.
