SHERMAN-The City of Sherman kicked off a weekend of fun with the Rhinestone Ball Thursday night. Attendees enjoyed a prime rib dinner on the second floor of Kelly Square.
Later guests danced to the music of Julie Johnson, a Whitesboro native known as the voice of baby bop. This is the second year for the ball and event organizers say it's a success.
"We love Kelly Square and the ambience down here and we want to draw more people downtown so they're aware of what we have down here to offer," said Shawnda Raines, with the Sherman department of tourism.
The events continue through the weekend with the Texoma Rodeo scheduled for tomorrow night, and Funtier Days on Saturday.
