SHERMAN- An arrest was made today by U.S. Marshals near Dallas in relation to a shooting on Saturday in Sherman which resulted in a man being taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
Dustin Michael Brown was apprehended this afternoon near Dallas by a U.S. Marshall Fugitive Task Force.
Saturday, James Earl Nelson was shot in the neck after an argument he had with someone in front of the home at 303 Millburn.
He is in stable condition, and police are still looking for JoQuin Lathan.
It was the third shooting in the last two weeks, but Sherman police want to let everyone know that the city is still safe.
Sgt. Bruce Dawsey of the Sherman Police Department says this one, like the others, aren’t random acts of violence, which are sometimes harder to deal with.
Two weeks ago there were two more shootings. But Sherman police want to stress that other than these acts of violence, the city is moving along fine.
Police have made arrests in the drive by shooting incident on Walnut.
The others, including the one on Saturday, are still under investigation
That’s where Sgt. Dawsey says the public can help keep their city safe.
“There’s always somebody that knows something…off the streets.”
