On the ballot tomorrow in Carter County, voters will be asked to add fifty cents to their cell phone bills, a move 911 emergency officials say could mean the difference between life and death.
Currently, if you call 911 on your cell phone in the county, dispatchers have no way of identifying where you are. They rely on the caller to give them that information.
If the fifty-cent increase passes, the county will be able to upgrade their 911 system to make that happen.
