SHERMAN, TX -- A car plowed into a building Wednesday afternoon leaving heavy damage, but no serious injuries.
Sherman police say a young woman mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal around 4 p.m. as she pulled into the parking lot of Larry's Big and Tall on Grand Avenue in Sherman. The driver of the car was shaken up.
Store owner Jeannette Livsey says that the damage will probably cost around $15,000, but she's just thankful that no one was hurt.
"I had some customers walk in two minutes before the crash, and thank God they were needing something at the opposite side of the store. Otherwise you know they'd have needed it right there by the windows there could have possibly been four to five people hurt," Livsey said.
Officers say the official cause of the accident was excited acceleration. No tickets were issued.
