The Associated Press reports that investigators say the Freightliner that Gentry and Pruitt were in hit a car stopped in the work zone. The impact set off an explosion. Police could not determine who was driving the truck.

Friends of Gentry tell KXII-TV he grew up in Sherman, played basketball at Sherman High and graduated in 1984.
