Lake Murray Lodge a done deal

ARDMORE --The deal is done.

The Lake Murray Lodge is now in the hands of the Ardmore Tourism Authority at least for the next 50 years.

Oklahoma tourism commissioners approved a lease agreement with the ADA this afternoon.

In that contract, the tourism authority agrees to pay $50,000 up front and transform the lodge into a first class resort.

The state tourism department will receive one percent of the profit each year and be able to hook up with the City of Ardmore’s wastewater treatment plant.

"Ardmore and Lake Murray will have a facility we can point to with great pride and attract tourists and visitors to the area," said ADA president Wes Stucky

Once the tourism director signs off on the contract, the Ardmore Development Authority has two years to begin construction, but Ardmore officials plan to start before that.
