BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- A Bryan County senior citizen is arrested over the weekend for shooting at his neighbor--an OHP Trooper--who returned fire.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says it happened Sunday north of Bokchito, where 81-year-old James Aubrey Smith and an off-duty trooper got into a fence dispute.
OHP says Smith fired a weapon at the trooper and another man at his house, to which the trooper returned fire.
Smith was arrested a short time later and charged with brandishing a firearm and shooting with intent to injure.
No one was injured, and Smith has since bonded out of the Bryan County Jail.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol internal affairs officers are investigating the incident.
