5-3-04 - The Caddo City Council voted unanimously on Monday night to terminate two police officers that were suspended one week ago.

The council did not give a reason for firing officers Allen Golden and Bryan Gordon. Both men told First News last week that they were suspended for making an arrest outside their jurisdiction.

On Monday night, the council was in executive session for less than hour before they made their decision. The officers claim they were never given a chance to tell their side.
Both claim they did nothing wrong.

The town of 920 people is now down to one part-time officer who is only on duty twenty hours a week. That man, Kevin Nave, was officially named as the interim police chief during Monday night’s meeting. The city is also using reserve officers to keep watch during other hours of the day.
