DENISON -- The old high school in downtown Denison will be torn down in the coming months. Crews began taking out the asbestos in the building in phase one of the demolition Monday morning.
On Monday morning, crews were on hand to start knocking out doors and boarded up windows of the building known by many in Denison as “Old McDaniel”.
The architect for the demolition says city leaders will be meeting with consultants for the project to talk about plans for the process.
Phase one should take about a month. The next process, knocking down the building, will take another couple of months.
All this leaves questions about where will the Jaycees host its annual haunted house, a very popular Texoma attraction and fundraiser.
