Motorcycle Driver Injured in Accident

05-09-04- Police say a Sherman man was driving his motorcycle too fast down Texoma Parkway Sunday morning when he slammed into the back of a car and went flying 242 feet in the air.

Sherman police are not releasing the man's name, but say speed was definitely a factor in the accident.

Just before noon, the driver of the motorcycle hit a car from behind. The car was apparently stopped to make a left turn, but the motorcycle driver was going too fast to stop. The driver flew 242 feet in the air and landed in the 3800 block of Texoma Parkway.

The 23-year-old driver was careflighted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with severe head injuries. Hours after the accident, the man was reportedly in stable condition.
