5-10-04- Police say a shooting on Lake Murray Drive appears to have been an accident. It happened Sunday morning at the Lake Murray Trailer Park.

Around noon Sunday, police responded to a 911 call at the trailer park.
They arrived to find Kendall Ellis lying on the ground next to a pick up truck. The 18 year old had been shot once in the stomach and was taken to Mercy Memorial Hospital for surgery. But Monday police said he should be ok.

Police say the victim told them later that a friend was handing him a gun when it accidentally discharged. That friend, 18 year old Delano Haggard, will face charges of mishandling a firearm.
