ARDMORE -- An independent study revealed the Ardmore Police Department is a "troubled department."
Berkshire Advisors presented their findings to city commissioners on Monday night. Their 195-page report indicates morale is low.
The department's approach to accountability is haphazard and there's tension between the patrol and investigative division.
Commissioners approved recommendations and timelines for changes to be made, including reducing the number of investigators and increasing the number of patrol officers.
Ardmore city manager Dan Parrott says, "The PD has lost its way and its functional focus is not on…citizens but internal division."
