5-11-04 - Nearly one year after two Ardmore teenagers were killed on a Carter County road, a new bridge was dedicated that could prevent future accidents in the area. The bridge covers a low water crossing on Refinery Road where Talon Fite and Keith Kester died when their car went airborne and struck a fence.
County leaders say speed and the lack of a standard bridge led to the accident.
The bridge bears a plaque with the names of the boys, as well as former commissioner Joe McReynolds, who died in office last year.
County officials also lowered the speed limit on county roads last month from 55 to 45 miles per hour.
