Attempted Murder: Man Pinned By Car

05-17-04 - A Whitewright man is in the hospital after a bizarre attack early this morning.

Police say 31 year old Norman Williams and 41 year old Douglas Michael Beard got into an argument in front of a home in the 400 block of highway 69 in Whitewright.

Police say, at around 5:30am, Beard got into his truck and struck Williams, who was standing outside the home. The victim was pinned between the vehicle and house for several minutes. Williams’s family witnessed the attack and called police. He is in critical, but stable condition at Texoma Medical Center.

Beard is now in police custody. He will be charged with aggravated assault and public intoxication.
