Farmers Market Coming to Sherman

5-18-04 - New business is about to blossom in downtown Sherman and residents could soon be eating it up. A developer is turning an old wholesale hardware building and lot into a farmers market.

Located near Travis and Wall Street, the market will open in June and offer fresh fruits and vegetables from area farmers. Developer Victor Ratliff hopes to eventually add live entertainment and arts and crafts to the building.

So far, half a dozen local farmers have signed up for the market and Ratliff expects that number to grow once they open. The market will be open every weekend this summer.
