5-19-04 - A Denton, Texas woman was arrested in Marietta this week after police caught her trying to use a stolen prescription pad. Fifty-year-old Cathy Castonguay is accused of six felony counts of prescription drug fraud.

A pharmacist in Marietta made the discovery when he double-checked a prescription for hydrocodine, a painkiller. Castonguay had been in five previous times for the same drug during the past few weeks. The pharmacist spoke to a doctor in Seiling, Oklahoma, near the panhandle, who denied writing the prescription, but did say he’d recently had a prescription pad stolen from his office.

When Castonguay attempted to fill another prescription, police were waiting. They suspect she’s committed similar drug fraud in several towns across north Texas and southern Oklahoma.
