Accused murderer formally arraigned in Carter Co.
ARDMORE, OK -- The Carter County man accused of killing another man and dumping his body in the Washita River has now been bound over for trial. Chasse Stevens stood in front of a judge for his formal arraignment Wednesday.

ARDMORE, OK -- The Carter County man accused of killing another man and dumping his body in the Washita River has now been bound over for trial. Chasse Stevens stood in front of a judge for his formal arraignment Wednesday.
The 28-year-old stands charged with first degree murder. Stevens is accused of killing 56-year-old Jimmy Fite, and then dumping his body in the Washita River back in March of 2007.
Stevens was arrested for murder two years later in July of this year. Officials believe Stevens killed Fite in a dispute over a vehicle.
Stevens is scheduled to be back in court in December to determine his jury trial date. Tonight he remains in the Carter County Jail on a $2.1 million bond.
